It wasn't SO technical - I'm basically a woodworker but picked up some electronics knowledge from a good friend at uni many years ago.Ian Thorpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07126406246964123582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299016237940767987.post-21128870873007889552013-09-17T19:43:04.835+01:002013-09-17T19:43:04.835+01:00Not sure I understood any of the technicalities of...Not sure I understood any of the technicalities of this, but I'm impressed by your ingenuity!rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00474723200653576051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299016237940767987.post-91561308638805435052013-08-28T07:48:16.325+01:002013-08-28T07:48:16.325+01:00Thanks, Wendy. On other occasions I must admit I have had things fall apart as I dismantled them, never to go together again! However, as a former English student I am forever indebted to the great university friend who introduced me to electronics and mechanics. There's great fun to be had. I wish I knew more - I saw a great TV programme recently about 'hardware hacking' in which people were creating fantastic things by reworking standard components from cheap items like webcams.Ian Thorpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07126406246964123582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299016237940767987.post-6712491781341273212013-08-27T23:00:19.007+01:002013-08-27T23:00:19.007+01:00Two terrific solutions to problems - and one solve...Two terrific solutions to problems - and one solved away from home! It is thought-provoking how so many simple actions (like using a mouse) can prove difficult for older users. I have to say here, we wouldn't feel confident about altering a mouse - I am impressed by this.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02792703802542843791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299016237940767987.post-18604070040611923912013-08-26T17:26:07.165+01:002013-08-26T17:26:07.165+01:00Sadly not - FIL's got very little control of t...Sadly not - FIL's got very little control of the movement of his hand. I did look for a large plug-in Trackpad which was sold years ago but the second-hand ones available aren't copatible with modern operating systems. We're looking at voice activated systems, too, but nothing seems straightforward.<br />Ian Thorpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07126406246964123582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299016237940767987.post-70796091248779375052013-08-26T16:06:51.825+01:002013-08-26T16:06:51.825+01:00Laptop with trackpad no good?
